Shirook Ali is a Senior Member of Technical Staff at Advanced Technology, Research In Motion Limited. Her expertise includes antennas and related topics for handset applications, channel modeling and propagation, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, tunable devices and systems. Shirook has a broad industrial experience working for Celestica (Toronto, Canada), The United Nations Development Program UNDP (Amman, Jordan), Al Andalus (Amman, Jordan). She held research positions working in academia at Baghdad University (Baghdad, Iraq), Jordan University for Science and Technology (Irbid, Jordan), and McMaster University (Hamilton, Canada).
Shirook holds several US and international patents and has authored several peer-reviewed papers as well as a book chapter in the area of wireless communication. Shirook co-authored a series of RAN4 contributions on MIMO correlation matrices.
Shirook received her Ph.D. from McMaster University, Electrical Engineering (Hamilton, Canada). She holds the Ontario Professional Engineering Association designation.
