Ron currently is Project Manager NECA’s Technology Group, responsible for wireless, Ethernet, IP, and related packet technologies; previously, Ron was responsible for tariff and training responsibilities in the Eastern Region.
Ron has worked for more than thirty years in the Telecommunications Industry. At Northwestern Bell (Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and the Dakotas) he had extensive experience in Installation and Maintenance, Engineering and Regulatory Management of Data Communications, Radio, Teletype, and Special Services circuits, including audio/video and Cellular. Ron worked for AT&T, Bell Communications Research (now Telcordia), and USWest developing Access Services and designing high speed data protocols; he was USWest Product Manager for X.25 Packet Services and supported emerging data communications offerings including Frame Relay, Transparent LAN Services and Switched Multi-megabit Data Service (SMDS) in the fourteen states comprising USWest. At AT&T Wireless, he managed, developed, and taught training programs for RF Engineers, Switch and Field Technicians. At AT&T Global Services he trained Data Sales Associates, Data Sales Managers and Data Sales Engineers in digital communications technologies and developed competency tools to measure the success of training and education programs. Ron completed undergraduate work in Systems Management at Buena Vista College, Storm Lake, IA, and graduate work at Iowa State University, Ames, IA, and Creighton University, Omaha, NE. He also did time in the US Navy as an Electronics Technician.
