As a marketing director of Alcatel-Lucent's IMS Solution, Ed leads the definition and launch of such IMS services as voice over LTE (VoLTE), video communications, and service experimentation with Application and Content Providers. During his 20 year telecom career, he has tended to engage on the creation and deployment of new services.
Ed's telecommunication career began in 1991 with AT&T network operations, culminating in AT&T’s re-entry into the local telecom business and the FCC’s Local Number Portability field trial in 1997. He then joined Alcatel-Lucent as a 5ESS systems engineer, moving to technical sales while supporting North American service providers’ migration from circuit to packet and the first IMS projects. Since 2006 he has provided strategic and operational marketing of IMS.
Ed served seven years as a U.S. naval officer. He earned a B.S.E.E. in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, and an M.S.E.E. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey.
